5 STAPLES AND ONE DRILL LATER...

So these past few weeks have been a bit chaotic to say the least.... Dan went to Chicago the last week in March. He came home complaining of a horrible headache and earache. He went back to work on Monday, then Tuesday came home from work early and went to the Doctors to get a shot for the headache. The doctor noticed some swelling at the base of the skull. it was about 3 inches tall and all along the back of his neck. They scheduled him for a CT scan for the next day. The CT showed tons of blood stored up in his head. This was causing the pressure in his head and ears. They drained it with a needle and sent him home. They thought that when he had a staph infection and kept falling down that he hit his head and now there was a blood clot. When he went on the airplane, the pressure from taking off and landing caused it to swell up and cause all of the pressure. He had another appt. Friday to make sure the bleeding stopped. Well... Thursday was horrible and by Friday it was even worse. They called him in early Friday morning and on the new CT scan saw that the bleeding hadn't stopped. They did a procedure that we have seen on GREY'S ANATOMY many times (you don't see all the pain and suffering on the show though!!!) They cut his head open and drilled a hole in his skull, drained all the blood out the cauterized it to make it stop bleeding. 5 days later (today) he is still in A LOT of pain, falling down (he is so dizzy), his ear still hurts and now having a hard time spitting out words. I am calling the doctor's this morning, I really don't think these things should be happening.
I don't understand WHY he has had such a horrible year. I feel like we are trying to do what is right and living like we should, but no matter what we do, there is ALWAYS something. Enough is enough!!!!!!

I know that this is not what you want to hear, but I just went to this awesome meeting where the speaker had gone through terrible terrible things including being blind in both eyes and then having to have one of her eyes removed.... But any way she put alot of things into perspective for me when she worded a phrase this way. "Of course we can't handle it, that's why we have the Savior." Idon't know why we have to go through the things we do, and your family has definatly had it's share to go through, but what doesn't kill us is suposed to make us stronger. Right? Please let us know what yopu guys need help with. Love Ya

Oh Becky, yes what a year indeed. Poor Dan.

Like your friend commented, we can't go through these trials without the help of our Savior. Stay close to him and things will be okay.

We love you guys!
